How to celebrate Juneteenth across the Gulf Coast

From music and art to food and family fun, Juneteenth celebrations across the Gulf Coast offer a variety of ways to honor freedom and community. Here's where to go and what to expect:

Bay Minette: Juneteenth, a Freedom Celebration
The Mutual Aid Benevolent Association will host a communitywide Juneteenth Celebration Saturday, June 14, at the Douglasville School of Arts & Recreation in Bay Minette.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1000 Shedrick Hardy Parkway and promises a full day of programming focused on the theme of freedom.

Attendees can expect music, dance, food, games and a "Freedom Program" highlighting the significance of the holiday.

Mobile: Juneteenth Celebration
The City of Mobile will host its 2025 Juneteenth Celebration on Thursday, June 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mardi Gras Park on South Royal Street.

The afternoon will feature a live DJ, line dancing, games, crafts, inflatables and complimentary food while supplies last. Food trucks, nonprofit booths, market vendors and children's activities will also be available.

Pensacola: Gallery Night Juneteenth "Art of Freedom"
Downtown Pensacola will mark Juneteenth with a special edition of Gallery Night titled "Art of Freedom" on Friday, June 20, from 5 to 9 p.m.

The event will highlight Black history, resilience and creativity through live performances, storytelling and visual art. More than 60 local artists, musicians and food vendors will line the streets of downtown.
