The rosters for the annual Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Classic were revealed Friday, and a handful of Baldwin County's own will be taking part in the prestigious event.

From Gulf Shores, wide receiver Carter Davis and defensive back Elijah Malone were each named to the team after being selected by top high school coaches from around the state.

In addition, St. Michael Catholic head coach Philip Rivers is set to act as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Alabama team as part of a staff of All-Star coaches.

This year's edition of the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Classic will take place Saturday, Dec. 12 at Hancock-Whitney Stadium on the campus of South Alabama in Mobile.

Overall, Alabama has won the competition 28 out of 39 total games, with the state currently holding a six-game winning streak in this yearly competition.

“Our selection committee spends countless hours evaluating film, communicating with coaches across the state, and carefully considering each nominee," Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association Director J.T. Lawrence said. "Their dedication helps ensure that the players selected represent the very best of Alabama high school football.”

Currently pledged to West Virginia, Davis has been a dynamic target for the Dolphins. He paces Gulf Shores with 663 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, and he's even tacked on 161 rushing yards and three more scores.

Commited to Jacksonville State, Malone has been a lockdown corner for the Dolphins while also contributing in a variety of ways on the other side of the ball.

He's recorded 19 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, a team-high 11 pass breakups and an interception. But Malone has also put in some work as a tailback, as he's racked up 198 rushing yards and five touchdowns thus far this fall.

Check out this preseason interview GCM did with Davis and Malone, where they talked about their college decisions, expectations for the season and much more:

Meanwhile, Rivers has led the Cardinals to a 5-3 overall record despite dropping the first three games of the season and dealing with an injury to starting quarterback Gunner Rivers.

The Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Classic will be broadcast live over the AHSAA TV Network via WOTM and Alabama Public Television and digital partner NFHS Network. The game will also be broadcast on the AHSAA Radio Network statewide.
