As just a sophomore, Robertsdale’s Olivia Foy is already making a name for herself on the regional volleyball scene.

The Golden Bears’ outside hitter/setter eclipsed the 500-kill mark in her young career last week, and her efforts earned her Gulf Coast Media’s latest Athlete of the Week honor after public voting concluded Tuesday evening.

Foy notably ranks top 30 in the state and top 10 in 6A when it comes to total kills.

And on top of that, the sophomore also ranks among the top 20 in blocks at the 6A level, showcasing her range of skills on the court.

Currently holding a volleyball offer from Bevill State C.C., Foy also competes in the High Jump for the Robertsdale track team.

Foy and the Lady Golden Bears next host Bayshore Christian at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Our other nominees for the week include Bayshore Christian running back/linebacker Bricen Turner, Daphne safety Kaden Brown and Bayside Academy quarterback Davis Barnett.

And be sure to check back here Monday at noon to cast your vote in GCM’s next Athlete of the Week ballot!
