Coastal Alabama Community College will conduct an active shooter disaster drill Friday, Oct. 16, on its Bay Minette Campus, giving emergency responders and health care students an opportunity to train together in a simulated crisis.
The exercise will include the sound of gunfire and is designed to provide critical training for participating emergency response agencies and Coastal Alabama programs.
The drill will take place from 1-4 p.m. in the Allied Health Building (T). Participants will include students and personnel from Coastal Alabama's nursing, EMS, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, medical laboratory technician and dental assisting programs, along with Coastal Alabama Police, Bay Minette Police, MedStar EMS, North Baldwin Infirmary, Baldwin County 911 and Baldwin County EMA.
Following the exercise, participating agencies will debrief on the Bay Minette Campus.
