Contenū, an organization supporting individuals facing serious health challenges, their families and healthcare professionals, will host a Wellness and Healing Retreat on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The full-day event will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Learning Campus at Gulf State Park according to a news release from the organization.
The retreat is open to healthcare providers including nurses, physicians, allied health practitioners and mental health professionals, as well as families and individuals living with serious illness. Attendees will have the opportunity to step away from daily pressures and participate in activities designed to reduce stress, promote wellness, and foster community.
Per the release, the program will feature a mix of reflection, engagement and moments of joy, giving participants a chance to rest, recharge and connect with peers who understand the challenges of caregiving, professional practice or living with illness.
“Contenū’s mission is to provide comprehensive support to those affected by serious health challenges, their families, and the professionals who care for them,” the organization said in the release. “Through programs, tools, and services, Contenū empowers individuals to advocate for themselves and others while nurturing their own well-being.”
All healthcare professionals, caregivers, families, and individuals living with serious illness are encouraged to attend. For more information about participating or sponsoring the retreat, visit www.contenuhealing.org.
