Many people look to make changes at the beginning of a new year.

If you have ever thought about a career in aviation, this may be the perfect time to make the switch. Job seekers and industry professionals will have the opportunity to connect at the Southwest Alabama Aviation Hiring Event on Friday, Jan. 24.

The event, hosted by SAWDC AlabamaWorks! in partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College, aims to strengthen the aviation workforce in the region, according to a news release.

Held at the Alabama Aviation Center, 1975 Avenue C, from 8 a.m. to noon, the event will bring together top aviation employers, industry leaders and educational institutions to foster career growth and workforce development.

"We're thrilled to welcome our regional partners to the Alabama Aviation Center for an event that promises valuable connections for both employers and job seekers," the executive director of SAWDC AlabamaWorks!, Bridget Wilson, said in the release. "This is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together to support employment growth and build career pathways."

Employers such as Airbus, Lockheed Martin, ST Engineering-Mobile Aerospace Engineering and Collins Aerospace will be in attendance, alongside local companies like Aerostar, Segers Aero Corporation and MAAS Aviation.

Attendees will also have the chance to explore training programs offered by Coastal Alabama Community College and Bishop State Community College.

The free, come-and-go event is open to the public, with no registration required. Job seekers are encouraged to dress in business casual attire and bring copies of their resumes, though resumes are not mandatory for entry.
