Two men from Fairhope were taken into custody early this morning following a series of vehicle break-ins in the Rock Creek neighborhood.

According to the Fairhope Police Department, the incident began around 3:30 a.m. when a resident of North Circle confronted a suspect attempting to break into his car.

The resident called the police, providing officers with a detailed description of the suspect and the vehicle used to flee the scene. Acting on this information, an officer later initiated a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle, uncovering stolen items linked to incidents on North Circle, Sandstone Court and Sandy Shoal Loop.

Samuel Bradford Carter, 20, faces multiple charges, including two counts of breaking and entering a vehicle, receiving stolen property (specifically a weapon) and possession of a controlled substance. His accomplice, 18-year-old Blaine Alexander Rawden, is charged with receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana.

During the investigation, various stolen items, including a handgun, were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
