The Baldwin Humane Society (BHS) has created a new board of advisors comprised of local teenagers.
The Teen Animal Advocacy Program will represent BHS through volunteering, attending monthly seminars and creating a community-based project to promote animal welfare and the BHS.
This year’s Teen Animal Advocates are: Ariana Nagle, Baldwin County Virtual School; Katelin Kinard, Fairhope High; Abby Green, Fairhope High; Chandler Little, Fairhope High; Samantha Butler-Murphy, Elberta High; Caris Blake, Daphne High; Wilson Engeriser, Bayside, Kate Ginger, Bayside and Victoria Rutland, Bayside.
Officials said the students were selected from a competitive pool of applicants from across the county.
The program is open to high school juniors and seniors (ages 16 years or older). The application process included completing a questionnaire, a written essay, and an in-person interview with representatives of BHS.
