Foley residents and visitors can take a midweek break with live music throughout October as the city brings back its free Midday Melodies concert series at Heritage Park.
The lunchtime series will feature four performances at the park’s Centennial Clock Tower, beginning Oct. 7 and continuing each Wednesday through the month. Concerts will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The October schedule will open with The Wiley Pete Duo on Oct. 7, followed by Dan Lee on Oct. 14. This Side of 49 will perform Oct. 21, and Tennessee Tim and Doug Drake will close out the series Oct. 28.
The concerts are free, and attendees can settle in with picnic blankets or lawn chairs. Those looking for lunch can visit one of the many restaurants in downtown Foley or bring food from home. The Masonic Lodge also will have concessions available during the events.
Heritage Park is near 104 N. McKenzie St., just across the pedestrian bridge over Alabama 59. Free parking is available around the perimeter of the park.
