While many will be in Mobile for President Donald Trump’s rally ahead of the midterms, the Democratic nominee for Alabama governor will be hosting his own town hall the same evening.
Doug Jones, who is Democratic nominee for this year’s gubernatorial race in the general election, will host a town hall meeting this Friday, Oct. 2, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Venue at Miracle Point, located at 28007 US-98 in Daphne.
According to the event page on Jones’ campaign website, attendees will be randomly selected to ask Jones questions on “the issues, challenges and ideas that matter most to you and your community.” A volunteer table will be set up before and after the event.
Admission is free, but reservations are required ahead of time. Reservations can be made at the link here.
Meanwhile, Jones’ opponent, Republican nominee and current U.S Sen. Tommy Tuberville, will be in attendance at Trump’s rally in Mobile.
Tuberville will later return to Coastal Alabama before the midterms, with the Baldwin County Republican Party hosting him for a fish fry and rally event on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m. in the Daphne Civic Center. Tickets for the event are available at www.baldwincountygop.com.
