Health screenings set for Gulf Shores this December

Posted

The Gulf Shores Activity Center will offer residents a chance to assess their risk for several chronic health conditions when it hosts a Life Line Screening event Dec. 18 at 260 Clubhouse Dr.

Life Line Screening, a national preventive health provider that conducts thousands of community events each year, will bring its mobile clinic to the center as part of an effort to help adults identify potential issues before symptoms appear. Screenings are designed to detect plaque buildup in arteries that can signal cardiovascular disease or stroke risk, narrowing in the smaller arteries of the ankles and feet known as peripheral arterial disease, HDL and LDL cholesterol levels and bone density that may indicate early osteoporosis.

Organizers say the screenings are intended to be both convenient and affordable. Free parking will be available at the site.

Special package pricing begins at $159, and consultants will help participants select options based on age and individual risk factors. Pre-registration is required and can be completed by calling (877) 237-1287 or visiting www.lifelinescreening.com.
