The Alabama Bankers Association (ABA) recently held its annual convention, introducing Macke Mauldin as the new chairman of its board of directors and welcoming several new board members, including David Meredith from Fairhope.

David Meredith, the Chief Credit Officer and Senior Vice President of Renasant Bank, brings extensive banking expertise and local insight to the ABA board. His appointment highlights the association's commitment to representing diverse regions across Alabama.

During the convention, Macke Mauldin, President of Bank Independent in Sheffield, was named the new chairman.

"Thank you for the confidence of my fellow board members and the member banks of the ABA for this opportunity to serve as your chairman," Mauldin said. "I am truly humbled by this honor. I am bolstered by our talented ABA community and look forward to working with Scott Latham and his great team."

Mauldin, with over 42 years in the banking sector, has been a pivotal figure in economic development and community involvement. His leadership roles span various organizations, including the Shoals Economic Development Authority and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Deposit Advisory Committee.
