ELBERTA, Ala. — Elberta town leaders and representatives from The Home Depot and Centennial Bank were on hand for a ribbon cutting of the Elberta Town Park Playground.
Thanks to an initiative by Elberta Councilman Michael Hudson, the park was rejuvenated and an enclosed children’s playground area was created. The project was completed with volunteer efforts and donations — all at no cost to the town. Hudson, himself, contributed approximately 180 hours to the project. In addition, Boy Scouts and 25 Elberta volunteers came together this summer for a special day to move the playground equipment from its previous location.
“We’re happy to have it done,” Elberta Mayor Marvin Williams said. “We think it’ll be good for the community.”
