Who’s heating up: Orange Beach’s Teagan Revette and Elberta girls soccer

Posted

Spring competition is still ramping up across Baldwin County with a plethora of athletes and teams starting to separate themselves with strong early-season performances.

Gulf Coast Media’s Baldwin County Buzz returns with another set of spotlights highlighting standout achievements from around the area. This week’s selections feature Orange Beach softball star Teagan Revette and an unbeaten run from the Elberta girls soccer team.

TEAGAN REVETTE, ORANGE BEACH SOFTBALL

Orange Beach’s Teagan Revette delivered one of the most impressive offensive weeks in Baldwin County softball, helping the Makos remain unbeaten early in the season.

Revette powered the Orange Beach lineup with a two-home-run performance in a 12-1 victory over Spanish Fort. The Mississippi State commit finished 4-for-4 in that game with three RBIs as part of a huge week at the plate.

Across six games last week, Revette went 12-for-21 with two doubles, one triple, two home runs and six RBIs while helping Orange Beach post a 6-0 record. The Makos improved to 8-0 on the season.

With her latest home runs, Revette has now surpassed 60 for her career and ranks among the top 10 in Alabama High School Athletic Association history in that category. Already regarded as one of the top players in the country, the senior has also been part of every state championship team during Orange Beach’s remarkable five-year title run, making her one of the few players on the roster to contribute to all five championships.

ELBERTA GIRLS SOCCER

Elberta girls soccer has emerged as one of the most dominant teams in the state to start the season. The Warriors sit at 9-0 overall and hold the No. 1 ranking in Class 5A while outscoring opponents 60-4 during their unbeaten run.

Their explosive start has also drawn attention beyond Alabama, with MaxPreps ranking Elberta No. 19 in the state and No. 73 nationally. Despite the impressive numbers, undefeated record and other rankings, Elberta remains unranked in the Class 5A girls coaches poll.

Elberta will look to keep its momentum and maybe secure a spot in those coaches’ polls going forward when they matchup with Holt on Saturday, March 14 in tournament play.
