Where to watch the Iron Bowl in Baldwin County

Posted

While the 90th edition of the Iron Bowl might be kicking off at Jordan-Hare, Baldwin County’s bars and venues are gearing up for a surge of fans determined not to miss a snap of the state’s fiercest rivalry.

Whether you're searching for a family-friendly crowd or a rowdy game-day scene, there’s a spot waiting with a big screen — and probably a special food or drink deal or two.

WATCH PARTY VENUES

There should be plenty of places across the county that will hold watch parties, but here are a few that are officially announced via social media:

Tee Off at The Wharf (Orange Beach) — Tee Off is always a great place to stop and watch your favorite team play. Whether you’re cheering for the Tide or the Tigers, there are plenty of TVs around the bar and Topgolf style paddock areas inside, and you can even watch from the courtyard area projector where you can relax, play cornhole and let the kids run around. According to Tee Off’s social media, there will be food and drink specials all day.

OWA (Foley) — OWA parks and resorts encourages the rivalry fans to come out and enjoy the big game on a huge LED screen with plenty of food and drinks. One of the top tourist spots in Baldwin County is also giving Tropic Falls season passholders exclusive access to a Passholder Tailgate with a buffet, swag bag and reserved space before kickoff.

The Waterfront (Daphne) — Rounding out the officially announced watch parties is The Waterfront on the Eastern Shore that takes reservations for large groups to come together. It was also announced on their social media that there will be a happy hour from 2 p.m. to close with the Iron Bowl starting at 6:30 p.m.

As far as watch parties that are not officially announced, The Hangout on the Gulf Shores Public Beach is usually always going to be playing the big game with the typical Hangout experience. Bar 45 at ONE Club has been known to do a yearly watch party. Flora-Bama is always a place to go for college football viewing as well as Icehouse Tap Room in Gulf Shores.

LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND BARS

Just like the watch party venues, there are many other restaurants and bars that will be playing the Iron Bowl on their TVs. Unfortunately, we can’t name them all, but here are a few favorites and popular choices to stop by for a bite, drink or just to watch.

Baumhower’s Victory Grille (Daphne and Foley) — Considering the sports bar was founded by former Alabama star defensive tackle Bob Baumhower, there will be no doubt that plenty of Tide fans will be heading over to the Daphne and Foley locations to catch the Iron Bowl.

The Cove (Gulf Shores) — For a more quiet getaway, The Cove down on the island is a laid back spot with plenty of food and drinks to enjoy while watching the game. Although a smaller bar area, there is other seating in the restaurant with TVs on the walls that will all likely be playing the Iron Bowl.

Island Wing Company Grill & Bar (Gulf Shores) — Being one of the most accessible stops on a trip down Hwy. 59, you can’t beat getting some wings during the biggest rivalry in college football. This is a spot with plenty of big screens and good for all ages to chant Roll Tide or War Eagle.

Buffalo Wild Wings (Daphne and Foley) — Yes, this is the most typical place to go watch a sports event. But BWWs usually likes to do happy hours or specials on gamedays and you can bet that both Baldwin County locations will be full of Auburn and Alabama fans on Nov. 29
