Baldwin County runners wrapped up the 2025 season at the AHSAA State Cross Country Championships in Oakville this past weekend with several teams placing within the top-15 and great individual performances across classifications.

Where Baldwin County teams placed and who led the way at the state cross country meet

Baldwin County runners wrapped up the 2025 season at the AHSAA State Cross Country Championships in Oakville this past weekend with several teams placing within the top-15 and great individual performances across classifications.

In the girls’ races, Bayshore Christian led the county with a runner-up finish in Class 4A, powered by the legs of senior Allie McTaggart’s fourth-place overall performance and freshman Kat Hart’s seventh-place finish. St. Michael claimed seventh in 4A, highlighted by freshman Emily Friedel, who finished fifth, and seventh-grader Abigail Givhan, who came in 17th. Fairhope placed 11th in 7A, Spanish Fort finished 15th in 6A, and Orange Beach also took 14th in 4A.

For the boys’ races, Bayshore Christian notched another strong showing to make it an all-around team performance, finishing third in Class 4A. Sophomore Henry Barber led the Eagles with a fifth-place individual finish, while senior Jonah Elliott (21st) and sophomore Joseph Lovelady (25th) also contributed to the team’s podium push. Orange Beach finished 13th in 4A behind sophomore Aaron Tierce’s 15th-place run. Fairhope placed 13th in 7A, Spanish Fort 11th in 6A, and Elberta 16th in 5A.

Several other runners across the county competed and finished the 5K runs at the state meet; the individuals listed above were the few that placed within the top 25 of their respective races. To see the full results from each race, visit al.milesplit.com.
