Special Humans Outreach & Wellness: SHOW Baldwin Inc. takes center stage in Baldwin County

Excitement abounds as SHOW Baldwin Inc. (Special Humans Outreach & Wellness) emerges as a beacon of hope and support for individuals with special needs in Baldwin County.

Founded by a group of mothers with special needs children, this newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is on a mission to foster inclusivity and empowerment within the local community.

At the heart of SHOW Baldwin Inc. is a commitment to providing vital resources and uplifting experiences for individuals with special needs, regardless of age or financial circumstance. With a multifaceted approach, the organization aims to address both the practical needs for medical equipment and the equally important need for social connection and inclusion.

One of the primary focuses of SHOW Baldwin Inc. is to offer grants for durable medical devices to children and adults with special needs.

"Our mission is to provide grants for durable medical devices, such as wheelchairs and communication devices, to children and adults with special needs," the organization stated on its Facebook page.

Recognizing the financial strain that such equipment can impose on families, the organization seeks to alleviate this burden and ensure that all members of the community have access to the tools necessary for improved quality of life.

"…our grants will help bridge the gap and ensure that everyone in our community has access to the tools they need to thrive," the post said.

Additionally, SHOW Baldwin Inc. is dedicated to enhancing social opportunities for individuals with special needs through a variety of engaging events, including proms, parties, field days, Easter egg hunts and more. These gatherings not only provide moments of joy and excitement but also serve as platforms for fostering meaningful connections and combating feelings of isolation.

A key aspect of SHOW Baldwin Inc.'s funding model is its commitment to transparency and impact. With 50% of all donations allocated directly toward grants for medical equipment and therapy, and the remaining 50% designated for organizing social events, donors can be assured their contributions are making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with special needs.

The founding board members include Stephanie Brewster, serving as president; Shea Gates, managing treasurer responsibilities and public relations; Lauren Hardy, handling treasurer and secretary duties; Heather Hestand, fulfilling roles as vice president and public relations; Crawford McWilliams, serving as an advisor; and Harold Callaway III, who provides legal counsel.
