Children's of Alabama, the state's only free-standing pediatric hospital, is celebrating its 113th anniversary this week.

Though the official anniversary was Monday, June 17, the hospital is marking the occasion with a week-long series of events.

In honor of its milestone, Children's of Alabama is hosting its 5th annual Celebrate campaign. The week-long celebration recognizes patients, families, community partners, and staff with special activities and acknowledgments, highlighting the contributions of those who have supported the hospital's mission.
This milestone comes as the hospital continues to provide critical healthcare services to children and families across Alabama and the Southeast.

"We are celebrating another year of delivering world-class healthcare services to families from across Alabama and the Southeast," said Tom Shufflebarger, Children's of Alabama CEO and President. "We are looking forward to celebrating more milestones as we continue to grow and improve healthcare for our patients."

This past year, Children's of Alabama recorded over 680,000 patient visits and more than 16,000 admissions. The hospital's excellence in care is highlighted by several of its subspecialties being ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report's Best Children's Hospitals.
