With career assist No. 100 against Baldwin County, Spanish Fort senior Basia Czarkowska moved into fifth place in the all-time Alabama High School Athletic Association record book.

The Coastal Alabama Large School Player of the Year from last season, Czarkowska helped the Class 6A No. 4 Toros take down the No. 8 Baldwin County Tigers 2-1 on Thursday, March 27, in Bay Minette. She finished with a goal and the 100th assist of her career to earn Woman of the Match honors alongside classmate Nancy DeFilippo who scored the other goal.

Now with 100 assists for her career at Spanish Fort, Czarkowska sits only 15 behind Donoho’s Erin Turley who set the mark during her time with the Falcons from 2019-24.

A first-team all-state selection and AHSAA All-Star as a junior and an all-state honorable mention as a sophomore, Czarkowska’s 36 assists from last year sits seventh overall in the AHSAA record book for a single season. She also moved into fifth all-time in single-game assists with five in a 7-0 win over Theodore last year.

Thursday’s performance helped raise her season totals to 26 goals and 22 assists so far on the year. Class 6A Area 2 contests remain on the schedule against Gulf Shores (April 1) and Baldwin County (April 4) in addition to a non-area tilt with Fairhope (April 10).

Sunday evening’s AHSAA girls’ soccer coaches rankings had the Toros at No. 9 in the all-classification poll with a 13-1-2 record that included a 2-0 mark in area play. Other Baldwin County teams represented included Orange Beach (No. 2 in 4A), St. Michael (No. 5 in 5A), Daphne (No. 7 in 7A) and Bayside Academy (No. 8 in 5A).

Through 16 games, Spanish Fort had outscored opponents 80-10 thanks in part to an 11-game unbeaten streak where the Toros scored at least five goals in all but two matches compared to four total goals from their opponents. According to MaxPreps stats, Spanish Fort entered this week outpacing the national average in goals (59-20), assists (59-13) and points (177-51) in the field as well as goaltending saves (83-38), shutouts (7-3) and wins (8-4).
