Snook Christian Academy continued its transition toward a new chapter as the Eagles competed in the Alabama Independent Schools Association state track and field meet for the final time before joining the Alabama High School Athletic Association next school year.
The Eagles' girls squad placed ninth overall, while the boys finished 17th in the team standings.
Seventh grader Rachel Smith delivered the program's lone state title, capturing gold in the girls 3,200-meter run with a time of 14:07.79.
Snook Christian saw several other notable performances across the meet. Lucas Merchant came within four seconds of a state title in the boys 300-meter hurdles, while teammate Samuel Krauss placed fourth in the event and added a 10th-place finish in the boys 110-meter hurdles.
On the girls' side, the 4x800-meter relay team of Rachel Smith, Rayne Susca, Lydia Smith and Zoe Galloway earned a third-place finish. Galloway also turned in a strong individual showing with a fourth-place finish in the girls 1,600-meter run, while Smith added a sixth-place finish in the same event.
In distance events for the boys, Tyler Shaffer and London McDonald placed eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 3,200-meter run. Shaffer also secured ninth place in the boys 1,600-meter run.
Snook Christian is set to join the AHSAA Class 1A ranks alongside fellow Baldwin County programs Bayshore Christian and Bayside Academy beginning with the 2026-27 school year. The Eagles will complete the remainder of the 2026 spring season in AISA competition before making the full transition.
