Baldwin County will be well represented in the prep football postseason as six programs — Bayside Academy, Daphne, Fairhope, Gulf Shores, Snook Christian and St. Michael — have secured playoff spots for the 2025 season.
Here is a quick look into each team's regular season record and matchups:
Daphne (Class 7A): 8-2 (4th in Region 1 at 5-2)
The Trojans will take the long journey to Harvest to take on the Sparkman Senators. Finishing 5-5 (5-2 in 7A Region 4), the Senators started the year with a tough schedule that saw them fall to 0-3 before turning into a playoff host team.
Fairhope (Class 7A): 7-3 (3rd in Region 1 at 5-2)
Much like their regional rivals, the Pirates will travel to North Alabama to take on James Clemons. The Jets finished the regular season 5-5 (5-2 in 7A Region 4) and were the region runner-ups after knocking off Daphne's opponent Sparkman.
Gulf Shores (Class 6A): 5-5 (3rd in Region 1 at 5-2)
The Dolphins will have the shortest drive out of all the AHSAA road playoff teams from the county as they are set to take on Russell County just an hour east of Montgomery. The Warriors (9-1, 5-1 in 6A Region 2) have been enjoying recent success the past two seasons, starting the year 7-0 before losing to eventual region champions Pike Road.
St. Michael (Class 4A): 10-0 (Region 1 champions at 6-0)
Being the only unbeaten team in the county, the Cardinals will be one of the two county home teams for the playoffs and a favorite for the 4A title. St. Michael is set to host the 5-4 (4-3 in 4A Region 2) Pike County Bulldogs in round 1.
Bayside Academy (Class 3A): 9-1 (Region 1 champions at 6-0)
The Admirals round out the county host playoff teams after rallying off nine-straight wins following the loss to St. Michael on their way to a region title. Bayside will take on the Houston Academy Raiders who finished 6-4 this season (4-3 in 3A Region 2)
Snook Christian (8-man AISA): 4-6 (7th in AISA 8-man)
The Eagles ended a 22-game losing streak this season with the move to 8-man football and will make their first-ever AISA playoffs appearance. Clinching the 7-seed, Snook will play at Escambia Academy and look for revenge after a 40-12 loss to the Cougars in the season opener.
The playoffs are set to kick off Friday, Nov. 7, for the AHSAA and Thursday, Nov. 6, for the AISA, marking the start of the road to the Alabama state championships.
