The man police believe sexually abused two minors at Meyer Park around 6 p.m. on Monday, June 4 has not been caught. A press release and photo from the Gulf Shores Police Department describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20’s with black hair, a light mustache, and goatee.

The man was last seen wearing red shorts and a white t-shirt. Calls to the police department have reported sightings of the man at Meyer Park on a bike similar to the one shown in the picture and at the Laundromat on East 2nd Street. According to Officer Billy Berrey who is working the case, police have reason to believe the suspect is a child predator and will attempt to strike again.

Berrey said the department works with a non-profit agency called “A Child is Missing” to initiate alerts in the event a parent cannot locate their child. The department places a call to the agency with the address nearest to the last known sighting of the missing child.

Next, the call center is able to alert thousands of citizens by phone in a matter of minutes of the child’s description and whereabouts in their area. The message instructs anyone with information to call the GSPD immediately. The agency’s website www.achildismissing.com boasts more than 230 recoveries of missing children, youth, and elderly.

If you have any information regarding the suspect in this case, immediately call Gulf Shores Police at 968-2431 or 911.
