BON SECOUR, Ala. — Swift-Coles Historic Home now has a new attraction, thanks to a loan from History Museum of Mobile.
Friday morning, HMM Curator of Collections Holly Jansen and Collections Technician Scott Corcoran delivered a cast-iron salt kettle to the Bon Secour home.
Jansen said not much is known about the heavy object.
"We found it at our warenouse,” she said.
The kettle is a reminder of the area’s history of boiling seawater to produce salt.
