Nancy Lowrey, a prominent figure in the Poarch Creek Indian community, has been named to Positive Maturity's Top 50 Over 50 list. The announcement was made at the organization's gala event in Birmingham on Thursday night.

Lowrey, a founding partner of FS Advisors, Inc., has been recognized for her significant contributions in the banking and financial sectors. With over 20 years of experience, she is a registered investment advisor and a licensed insurance agent. FS Advisors exclusively serves Native American tribes with investment management, finance, benefits administration and insurance services.

Before establishing FS Advisors in 2005, Lowrey was a partner at Financial Solutions, Inc., where she provided financial services to high-net-worth individuals and small businesses. Her career also includes roles in bank management, economic development planning for the Poarch Creek Indians, and service as a Tribal Council Member and board member of the PCI Gaming Authority.

"We are thrilled that Nancy is being recognized by Positive Maturity as a recipient of its prestigious Top 50 over 50 award," said Tribal Chair & CEO, Stephanie A. Bryan. "Nancy exemplifies the concept of 'positive maturity.' She is a beloved leader in our Poarch community — not only for her service with the Tribal Council, but also because of the vast financial knowledge she brings to the Tribe that helps so many individuals and families in and around our home in Atmore."

Positive Maturity, founded in 2014, created the Top 50 Over 50 event to celebrate older adults who make a meaningful impact in their communities. The organization, one of the first senior-focused groups in Jefferson County, aims to highlight the contributions of individuals who improve lives through various forms of engagement.

Honorees for the Top 50 Over 50 are selected based on various criteria, including volunteer and civic engagement, community impact, business or lifetime achievements, caregiving, medical or social services professions and education. The award also recognizes individuals from Alabama who may no longer reside in the state but whose impact is worthy of recognition.

"Every year we look forward to the night when we get to publicly recognize these outstanding citizens for their community and philanthropic achievements," said Penny Kakoliris, executive director. "It's full of fun and special memories."
