Two Eastern Shore standout runners will represent Baldwin County this summer after earning spots in the AHSAA North-South All-Star Cross Country competition.
Fairhope's Josie Kemper and Spanish Fort's Samuel Wilbur were among the 20 runners selected by the AHSADCA coaches' selection committee — all athletes are rising seniors. The meet marks the 10th year of the all-star competition that takes part in July.
Kemper was named to the South Girls team after a strong end to her junior season at Fairhope. She recorded a time of 22:23.98 in the 5K at the 2025 Class 7A state meet. Kemper also placed 15th at the Class 7A Section 1 meet to qualify for the state championship.
Wilbur earned a spot on the South Boys team following his own standout junior season for Spanish Fort, where he finished fifth at the Class 6A Section 1 meet to secure his qualification for state. He ran the 5K in 16:56.08 at the 2025 Class 6A state meet and placed in the top 30. Wilbur is also a member of the Spanish Fort varsity soccer program.
