A 21-year-old Andalusia, Ala., man who has family ties in Bon Secour, hasn’t been heard from since Jan. 31, 2008.
Family members of Marcus A. Heaton are asking anyone with information about him to contact them or the Andalusia Police Department.
According to a police report filed with the Andalusia Police Department on Feb. 4, 2008, by Carol Heaton, the missing man’s mother, Marcus Heaton left for Lafayette, La., on Jan. 27, 2008, for a job interview.
He was driving the family’s 2002 silver Chrysler 300M. Heaton spoke to his mother everyday up until his final call at 2 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2008. During that call he told his mother that he failed to get the job and expressed extreme disappointment with that fact.
Heaton’s family sent him money to meet them in Foley but he failed to contact them. Attempts to reach him by cell phone failed but on Feb. 3, 2008, an unknown male answered the phone and stated Heaton had sold him the phone in order to get back to Alabama. The unknown male hung up and failed to answer the phone again.
Heaton’s aunt received a call from him but when the call was returned it went to the voice mailbox of a woman the family doesn’t know.
Heaton’s grandparents, Jasper and Mary Heaton, live in Bon Secour, where the missing man often spends time with them.
Marcus Heaton is described as being 5 foot, 8 inches tall and weighing 142 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that says “Hallie” and his last name across his back.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Marcus Heaton or any information concerning him is urged to call the Andalusia Police Department or his parents and family at the following numbers: 251-269-7267; 251-269-7032; 334-222-2173; 251-949-5366.
