Celebrate the close of the school year, the start of summer, and the return of the beach to residents and visitors after the Hangout Music Festival with s'mores.
For 14 years, the city of Gulf Shores has hosted the S'mores on the Shore event at Gulf Place. This event is one of the only times you will see campfires on the beach in Gulf Shores.
Everyone is welcome, young and young at heart, at this family-friendly event that includes free s'more packets, a live DJ, a balloon artist, face painting and more. Bring your beach chairs, blankets and friends and watch the sunset while roasting a marshmallow.
"We started S'mores on the Shore in 2010 and it quickly became a fan-favorite amongst our residents and guests," said Recreation and Cultural Affairs Director Grant Brown. "It's the perfect event for families of all ages who are looking for a little free fun and excitement. When you combine our beautiful beaches, music, campfires and s'mores, it really does make for an incredible night."
S'mores on the Shores is set for Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m. at Gulf Place, 101 Gulf Shores Parkway. For more information on events hosted by the city of Gulf Shores, visit www.gulfshoresal.gov/specialevents.
