Upcoming dinner, silent auction to benefit disadvantaged youths

Posted

The Dream Center of Baldwin County will hold its third-annual charity dinner and silent auction, 'Dream Big!" on Thursday, Sept. 19.

This annual event, taking place at 6 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center, 407 E. Laurel Ave., is the Dream Center's biggest fundraising event of the year and includes a cocktail hour with silent auction followed by a three-course meal and a program featuring community leaders and Dream Center participants.

This year's special guest speakers feature Assistant District Attorney Teresa Heinz and Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich. Attendees will meet Dream Center participants as they help serve and share their testimonies and will see first-hand how the Dream Center program is changing lives in Baldwin County.

"The past year at the Dream Center has been quite exciting, and there is much to share. Our Dream Big! dinner is a great way for donors and potential partners to come and hear what the Dream Center is all about and learn how they may be able to help," Executive Director Joe Aldrete said in a news release. "We are very pleased to be holding this year's event at the Foley Civic Center. It will provide better viewing for everyone and allow for an even bigger silent auction. We're proud of the growth of this event and work hard to make each year better than the one before. While it's a fun night for sure, the best part is that 100% of the proceeds directly benefit disadvantaged kids here in Baldwin County."

Dream Big! is open to everyone, and sponsorships are still available.

"One of the most impactful things about this fundraiser is the local businesses that get involved. We receive and welcome donations from many local businesses, from the food that is prepared to table sponsors to auction items. These kids are the future of Baldwin County, and our community really comes together to support this important work," Dream Center Board President Steve Bailey said. "We certainly could not do this without them."
