GULF SHORES, Ala. — Dedication is something we strive for at the CSC. We have seen it at its best in a retired case worker and officer – Kay Reese. Kay worked for CSC since 1997 and has always been active in its organization until her retirement in a couple of years ago.
Kay moved from Michigan to Gulf Shores approximately 30 years ago. While in Michigan, she raised four children and held a full time job as secretary to a Circuit Court Judge.
Upon her arrival in Gulf Shores, she became involved at Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church as an Elder and continues to be active in all aspects.
When recalling their working together, CSC President, Linda Chappelle, described Kay as “organized, intelligent, creative and supportive.”
She continued, “Kay’s secretarial skills and knowledge of the law were a great help to me in taking on the responsibilities of CSC President.
She listened to my ideas, gave me her input and helped me implement new ideas and procedures. I do not think I could have done it without her!”
An avid bridge play, Kay keeps a beautiful home and yard and has a very faithful companion, her Siamese cat. She also has the joy of having two of her daughters and grandchildren nearby.
Every week, meeting with family and friends to eat out, Kay always comments on how grateful she is to have good health. Even though retired from the Center, she continues to reach out to people who have fallen on hard times. We all benefit from Kay’s wonderful attitude.
