Ten nonprofits in Baldwin County are one step closer to receiving transformative grants.

Impact 100 Baldwin County recently named finalists in its 17th year of transformational grant giving. The organizations and projects by category are:

ARTS, CULTURE & RECREATION

ENVIRONMENT & PRESERVATION

Friends of Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge Foundation: "Exhibits for New Office/Visitor Contact Station"

North Baldwin Animal Shelter: "15 Year Shelter Renovation Project"

FAMILY

Exceptional Foundation Gulf Coast: "The Wheels on the Bus"

Mary's Shelter: "Mary's Village"

The finalists were selected from applications reviewed by Impact 100 Baldwin County's Focus Groups in each category.

"Over 500 hours from 99 dedicated members serving on Focus Groups went into choosing these nonprofit grant finalists," Impact 100 Baldwin County President Bailey Stitt said in a news release. "We are so excited to showcase these organizations in our 17th year of changing lives in Baldwin County."

Impact 100's annual meeting and the culmination of its grant cycle, "Evening of Impact," is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Daphne Civic Center. The finalists from each focus area will present their unique projects to Impact members at the meeting. The members will vote, and the organizations that will receive $103,000 each will be announced that night.

Impact 100 Baldwin County is a community of women seeking to transform the quality of life in Baldwin County by awarding high-impact grants to nonprofits working in the county. Through the power of collective giving, each member's annual $1,000 contribution is pooled to produce these grants, which have collectively amounted to over $5.4 million. Impact Donors, individuals, businesses, foundations or entities who make direct contributions to Impact's operating budget, support the operational costs of Impact 100 so 100% of membership dollars can go toward funding these grants each year.
