Harvest Festival recruiting artists and craftsmen

GULF SHORES, Ala — The fourth annual “Harvest – A Festival of Gifts” is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3.

This festival will showcase original works by local artists and crafters, offer holiday gifts, a silent auction, a sweet shop, a decorated pumpkin contest, and free holiday digital family portraits. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church Mother’s Day Out & Preschool ministry.

The Harvest organizing committee is currently recruiting local artists and craftsmen to sell hand-made works at this event. Anyone with a unique, original, and creative art or craft talent is encouraged to apply.

ProExamples of exhibitor booths needed are – but not limited to – ceramics, pottery, drawing, painting, sewing, monogramming, glass, jewelry, metal or wood art, and photography. The Harvest is meant to honor and support our local artists while offering a variety of special holiday gifts to the community.

There will be a “Heart of the Harvest” recognition award presented based on overall creativity, individuality, and the means in which the artist “celebrates” their given gift of art.

This year the Harvest Festival will again offer holiday portraits for the entire family. The digital photography will be offered free of charge by Michelle White Originals.

There will also be a decorated pumpkin contest for all ages with prizes being awarded based on creativity. Winn Dixie of Gulf Shores will be barbequing lunches on site and offering ribs to go.

Vendor applications are being accepted until Oct. 12. Vendor spaces will be $35. For a vendor application or for more information regarding the Harvest please visit www.gulfshoresumc.org/children or contact 251-968-4328, 251-583-6352 or theharvestfestival @yahoo.com.

This event will be held at the South Campus of the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. Sponsorship opportunities are currently available.
