Nick Hampton will make history for Gulf Shores High School when he takes the field in one of America's biggest high school football all-star games later this month, the 2025 Military Appreciation Bowl (U.S. Army Bowl).
The senior tight end is the first player from Gulf Shores to be selected for the game, which will be held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Sunday, Dec. 21, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
Hampton signed with Troy University on Dec. 3, and capped his high school career with an impressive 36 receptions for 512 yards and seven touchdowns, adding two rushing scores and 81 yards as a wildcat quarterback option. Over his career, he totaled 890 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.
The all-star game features some of the nation's top high school football prospects, but before they suit up, they will participate in a combine-like showcase. Athletes will compete over three days at Bowl Week, showcasing skills in combine events, 1-on-1 matchups, and position drills overseen by NFL and college coaches. Performances will be evaluated for the National Watch List, shared with more than 200 colleges.
