Ed's Seafood Shed in Spanish Fort has closed its doors after more than two decades, but the currently vacant building will have a new life.
Ed's Seafood Shed closed on Sunday, March 23, with ownership transferred to Sunshine Ventures, who plan to turn the building into a Groovy Goat sports bar.
The Groovy Goat, which is coming to Spanish Fort, will be the second location in Baldwin County. The first is in Foley, at downtown OWA.
Since gaining ownership of the building, they have already been at work transforming the former Ed's Seafood Shed into what will be the second Groovy Goat, installing many TVs for sports as well as a small arcade area.
The hope is to have the new Groovy Goat in Spanish Fort ready and open by Memorial Day this year.
