President Donald Trump held a rally at the University of South Alabama in Mobile on Friday, Oct. 2, featuring an entourage of Alabama officials and candidates for what Republicans have called a crucial midterm election that is just a month away.

Local candidates in attendance included Barry Moore, who is running for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat, and Jerry Carl, who is running for Alabama’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House. Trump reaffirmed his endorsements for both candidates during his speech. Also speaking were Katherine Robertson, who is running for attorney general, John Wahl, who is running for lieutenant governor and U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who is running for governor, as well as U.S. Sen Katie Britt and others.

Trump’s visit to the Port City attracted hundreds of supporters - the first person in line arrived at 2 a.m. - as well as groups of protestors who gathered outside the Mitchell Center.

GCM was on scene will have more coverage from yesterday’s rally soon.
