There is nothing like a one-of-a-kind item or a limited offering to build excitement. Our top weekend events are fleeting so don't miss out. Take in a summer theater show offered by students from the University of Alabama or get free entry into the History of Mobile Museum. Do not miss the most exclusive event as the National Naval Aviation Museum (NNAM) will open to the public for one day only. Wherever the adventure takes you, enjoy the weekend.

Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming

What: The University of Alabama's SummerTide Theatre returns to Gulf Shores. This summer's production is "Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming." The production is full of toe-tapping Bluegrass Gospel favorites and touching stories.
When: June 3 through July 1. Times vary
Where: South Baldwin Community Theatre, 2022 West 2nd St., Gulf Shores

Festival of Flight - 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway

What: For one day only the National Naval Aviation Museum (NNAM) will open to the public to present the Festival of Flight, honoring the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway. The daylong family festival will include performances by the Blue Anchor Belles, kid crafts, story time, scavenger hunts, Battle of Midway flight stations and more.
The NNAM has been closed to the public since 2019.
When: Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Where: National Naval Aviation Museum, 1750 Radford Blvd., Pensacola. Public access to NAS Pensacola June 4 will be available from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. only, through the West Gate at 1878 South Blue Angel Parkway. Once public parking is full, public access will be halted until more parking becomes available.

Free Sunday at History Museum of Mobile

What: Visit the History Museum of Mobile any time from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and enjoy free admission. The newest exhibit on display is The Vikings Begin and A History of Mobile in 22 Objects.
When: Sundays from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
