Foley’s Amiyah Carvin selected for AL-MS hoops all-star game

After pouring in points at one of the highest clips in Alabama all season, Foley senior Amiyah Carvin will cap her prolific high school career on March 14 when she represents Baldwin County in the 36th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Basketball game.

Foley High School announced on social media that Carvin was selected to compete in the annual showcase, which will be played at 12 p.m. on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.

The game annually features 12 of the top senior players from each state and stands as one of the premier interstate all-star showcases in the region, alongside the longtime Alabama-Mississippi football all-star game.

Mississippi College — the host site — is also among the collegiate programs that have recruited Carvin. She is one of the few athletes in Baldwin County who did not commit or sign earlier in February on signing day, but Carvin announced her commitment to Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi, just days after being named to Team Alabama's roster.

On the court, Carvin averaged 26.6 points per game this season — the fifth-highest mark in Alabama — along with 4.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. She helped lead Foley to a 14-11 record and has been a varsity starter every season since seventh grade.
