Foley's boys edged out a tightly contested four-team race to secure back-to-back titles, while Fairhope's girls delivered a dominant performance to headline the 2026 Baldwin County track and field championships.
Foley totaled 127 points on the boys side, narrowly holding off Daphne (118), Fairhope (108) and Spanish Fort (100). On the girls side, Fairhope left little doubt, piling up 259 points to run away with the team title. Daphne finished second with 113, followed by Robertsdale with 70.
The Lions' repeat effort was powered by depth across events, finishing with 11 podium placements and five individual champions. Rashaud Robertson led the charge on the track, sweeping the 100- and 200-meter titles while adding a third-place finish in the 400. Rashad Jones dominated the throws, winning both the javelin and discus and placing second in pole vault. Jakobe Williams added a win in the 110-meter hurdles as well.
Distance standout Lincoln Strickland contributed across three events, placing second in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters and third in the 800. Foley also picked up points in the 4x800 relay with a third-place finish from Strickland, Kaydrick Allen, Travis Bowers and Josiah Nichols.
On the girls side, Fairhope's performance was overwhelming, totaling 16 podium finishes and eight individual champions. Takiera McCovery swept the 200 and 400 meters, while Zoe Suntych claimed titles in the triple jump and 100-meter hurdles. Lillian Simpson won the 300-meter hurdles and added a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles.
Seventh grader Avery Lawrence made a statement with a win in the 3,200 meters, and Caroline Ledford took the pole vault title. Nylah Loukides added a win in the shot put, helping anchor a strong showing in the field events.
Fairhope's depth extended across the board, with multiple runner-up and third-place finishes, and the Pirates also captured the 4x800 relay while placing second in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
Several other county athletes turned in standout performances across the meet.
Daphne recorded six event wins, highlighted by Reagan Fuller in the girls long jump, Latron Valrie in the boys 400 and Jayden Sledge in the boys 300-meter hurdles. The Trojans also claimed victories in the boys 4x100 relay and girls 4x400 relay, while Aleecia Harris won the girls 100 hurdles.
Robertsdale produced five champions, including a distance sweep from Laila Cooper in the girls 800 and 1,600, and a win from Noah McDaniel in the boys 3,200. Olivia Foy added a title in the girls high jump.
Fairhope's boys added to the program's success with wins from David Allen in the long jump and Ian Brown in the 1,600.
Spanish Fort saw Jared Loto win the boys triple jump and claimed titles in both the boys 4x800 and 4x100 relays. Gulf Shores got victories from Matt Howe in the pole vault and Daniel Foster in the shot put, while Orange Beach's Anthony Hawkins won the boys high jump. Baldwin County's Gavin Brandt rounded out the individual winners with a victory in the boys 800.
Foley also picked up key wins on the girls side as well with a fifth-place finish there, led by Abigail Ables (javelin) and Nyla Harrison (discus) each finishing atop the podium.
All county programs now set their sights on qualifying for the state meet in Gulf Shores as sectionals are scheduled for April 24-25 at various locations.
