Fly High Goose Foundation donates $30,000 for playground at Live Oak Landing in Stockton

A local nonprofit honoring the legacy of Adrian “Goose” Johnson is helping bring a new playground to North Baldwin County.

The Fly High Goose Foundation has donated $30,000 to the Baldwin County Commission to help fund a playground at Live Oak Landing in Stockton. The project is part of the county’s master plan to enhance recreational amenities at the popular waterfront park along the Tensaw River Delta.

The new playground will offer families a welcoming place to gather and play while adding to the area’s growing outdoor attractions.

For the Johnson family, the project carries deep personal meaning. Adrian “Goose” Johnson, whose love of adventure and community inspired the Foundation’s creation, spent much of his childhood exploring Live Oak Landing.

“Goose grew up exploring and loving this area,” said his father, Kelly Johnson. “My own father had a houseboat at Live Oak Landing in the 1970s, so this place has been special to our family for generations. Being able to give back to a location that holds so many memories — and now to honor Goose here — is what it’s all about.”

Construction on the playground is expected to begin in 2026. Once completed, it will serve as a lasting tribute to Goose’s adventurous spirit and the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to youth and community engagement.
