Eight Baldwin County volleyball programs are set to keep dancing in the postseason at the AHSAA South Regionals in Montgomery after advancing through area tournaments last week.
In Class 7A, Daphne, Fairhope and Bayside Academy all punched their tickets. Daphne finished as runner-up in Area 2 after falling to McGill-Toolen in the championship. The Trojans will face Bayside in the first round of the 7A regional tournament.
Bayside finished runner-up to Fairhope in the Area 3 title match. After claiming the Area 3 championship, the Pirates will open regional play against McGill-Toolen.
In Class 6A, Spanish Fort and Gulf Shores both advanced out of Area 2. The Toros earned the area crown after defeating Dolphins in the championship and will take on Chelsea in the opening round. Gulf Shores will meet Spain Park in its first match.
Elberta represents Baldwin County in Class 5A after finishing as runner-up in Area 1 to UMS-Wright. The Warriors will face Elmore County in their opening-round match.
Rounding it out with Class 4A, Orange Beach and St. Michael both advanced from Area 1. The Makos took down the Cardinals in the area championship — the first match in their new gym — and will play Fairfield in the first round. St. Michael will meet Indian Springs to open regional play.
The South Regionals are set for Oct. 22-24 at the Montgomery Multiplex. Winners will advance to the AHSAA State Volleyball Championships in Birmingham.
