The Zachariah Godbold Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution welcomed Baldwin County High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets and their instructor, Col. Aaron Lehman, USAF (Ret.), to its October meeting.

The group, known as the "Flying Tigers," shared how the AFJROTC program helps students build academic success, citizenship, leadership, physical fitness and self-discipline through coursework and hands-on experiences. Chapter members said they enjoyed meeting the cadets, calling them outstanding ambassadors and future leaders guided by a dedicated mentor.

Representing the BCHS AFJROTC were C/SSgt Ava Fowler, Chief of Logistics; C/CMSgt Hannah Spillman, Corps Senior Enlisted Advisor; C/1Lt Ciara Comalander, Special Teams Squadron Commander; and C/1Lt Alyssa Johnson, Support Squadron Commander. Col. Lehman and chapter Regent Patti Smith also participated in the event. C/Maj Alyssa Cavalier, Corps Commander, and her grandmother, Laurie Cavalier, also attended.

In recognition of the cadets' accomplishments and in honor of the nation's upcoming 250th birthday and the America 250! celebration, the DAR chapter announced a donation of Revolutionary War–era history and historical fiction books to the Baldwin County High School library.
