DAPHNE — National Library Week, April 15-21, will be celebrated at the Daphne Public Library by offering a fine-free week to return lost and overdue items.
National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers and to promote library use and support. The Daphne Public Library promotes library use through programming for adults, teens and children and through offering high quality materials in multiple forms.
Programming for adults includes the monthly Jubilee Book Club (held the third Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m.) and Jubilee Mornings (held the first Wednesday of each month, August through May).
Programming for children includes the upcoming ninth annual “Spring-Into-Reading” Children’s Festival on Saturday, April 28 and the summer reading program (sign-up begins in May) during June.
Story times for preschoolers are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 2 p.m.
After-school story times are on Thursdays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Story times vrun throughout the public school schedule and cease during the summer months to make way for the summer reading program.
The Daphne Teen Advisory Board meets for service and fun on the second Tuesday of each month.
