Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo celebrated Boo at the Zoo on Oct. 18. Before the gates opened at 9 a.m., about 50 people were lined up outside the main entrance; an hour after doors had been opened, a line had formed around the front of the building for those purchasing day passes. Inside the zoo, sponsors and zoo staff were at various locations handing out candy and goodies to those in costumes. At the event venue next to the carousel, a cluster of tents were set up, and zoo staff walked around featuring certain animals such as Pina the cockatoo and Hershey the snake.
