USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park will hold the third annual Blacksmith Experience’s Knife Making Competition fundraiser Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The family-friendly event features former contestants from the History Channel TV Show, “Forged in Fire”. Knives will be made of steel from the USS TEXAS and teak from the USS ALABAMA. There is a $5 suggested admission to enter that also registers event participants to win one of the knives being made that day. Participants do not need to be present to win.
This is a fundraiser for the non-profit organization Forging A Difference which uses blacksmithing and knife making to serve veterans, active duty, law enforcement, and first responders. The classes create community and weave in ways to address various mental health needs.
For advance tickets and information visit www.ForgingADifference.com.
USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park is located at 2703 Battleship Parkway in Mobile.
