BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Baldwin County High School will induct its 2013 athletic Hall of Fame class at haltime of the Tigers’ football 7 p.m. game against Gulf Shores at Lyle Underwood Stadium in Bay Minette on Friday.
Bruce Gregson Holmes, Buddy Clemmons, Chris Corbett, Frank Grace, Mac Tisdale and Sarae Roberts are set to be inducted during the ceremony.
Holmes is a 1970 graduate of Baldwin County High School and played football for six years with three varsity letters. He was the starting center on the 1969 undefeated team and was selected All-State and All-County.
Clemmons is a 1959 BCHS graduate who played football for five years and three varsity letters at tackle. He was an All-County and All-State selection and was selected by his teammates as a permanent captain.
Corbett is a 1990 BCHS graduate who played football, soccer, baseball and golf. He was an All-County, All-Area selection and voted Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman and permanent captain. After high school he started at center for the Naval Academy Prep School. He was an FCA member and “Challenger Award” winner.
Grace is a 1978 BCHS graduate who played basketball and was voted to the County All-Tournament Team, Regional Tournament MVP and Regional All-Star. He was the team’s leading rebounder and named All-Region and All-State as a senior. He played college basketball at Faulkner State and Huron College.
Tisdale taught at BCHS for 33 years and was an avid BCHS athletics fan. He drove the football bus, officiated at basketball game, sold tickets in the ticket booth and attended every football game after his retirement. After retirement he drove the bus for the Perdido basketball teams.
Roberts is a 2001 graduate of BCHS and is one of the most decorated female athletes in the school’s history. She played softball and volleyball at BCHS. She had 963 strikeouts, a 1.13 ERA with three perfect games and hit .302 for the Lady Tigers. She led the team to Elite 8 finishes in 1998, 2000 and 2001. She was a four-year All-County selection, a Super 12 selection and an AHSAA All-Star. She played college softball at Springhill College and Bishop State.
