U.S. Rep. Barry Moore of Alabama officially opened his new congressional office in Foley with a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning at City Hall.
The office, located on the east side of City Hall, will serve constituents in Baldwin County and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office can be reached at (251) 437-6310.
Moore was joined by Foley officials, South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce members and city and congressional staff to celebrate the opening.
Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich said the office will be a benefit to officials and residents in Baldwin County.
"We're very proud to re-establish a congressional office in Foley, Alabama. We know you're about service," Hellmich said. "Your record stands out helping people, and we appreciate it. Whatever we can do here in Foley to help make your stay better and welcome you, we will. We thank you for being here and looking forward to this. We're going to work with you in every way that we can."
Moore, who has represented Alabama in Congress since 2021, highlighted the office's role in assisting residents. During his first four years in office, Moore's staff helped approximately 5,700 constituents with various federal issues.
"My team, they will serve. We work for you," Moore told attendees. "A lot of times in D.C., people forget that. They think that they're your ruling class. We're not. We're the serving classes. We're here to serve you. So, if you have issues with the Veterans Affairs or IRS, come see us. If you're missing a passport that little Johnny needs to go on a senior trip, come see us."
The City of Foley agreed in January to provide three office spaces on the east side of City Hall for Moore's staff. This arrangement followed Moore's election to the First Congressional District after court-ordered changes to district boundaries. Moore was first elected to represent Alabama's Second Congressional District in 2021 and began serving the First District after his victory in the November 2024 election.
Moore also held ribbon cutting ceremonies for additional district offices in Bay Minette and Mobile on the same day. His Bay Minette office is located at 116 Courthouse Square, and the Mobile office is at 5253 Hwy. 90 W, Suite I.
