Baldwin County High School’s anglers turned in another strong performance on the water this past weekend at Lake Demopolis, taking first place in the 2025 Wiregrass Student Angler Trial Team of the Year standings while stacking up high finishes in both the high school and junior divisions.
In the high school division, Baldwin County’s Luke England and Brycen Stewart led the program with a fifth-place finish. The duo landed a five-fish limit at 8.61 pounds. Teammates Kipton Hall and Wyatt Parker followed in sixth with 8.58 pounds, while Hunter Robertson and Devon Pfeffer finished ninth at 8.37 pounds. Cam Joiner and Conner Hadley also placed inside the top 20.
Through two events, England and Stewart sit in second for the year-to-date standings with 10 fish and a weight of 15.88 pounds. They are eight points behind the leading anglers from Saraland.
Fairhope also placed a duo in the high school division. The team of Carter Kessler and William “Jack” Booth finished 23rd overall with 5.45 pounds on five fish. The Pirates are not currently placed in the WSAT Team of the Year standings.
In the junior division, Baldwin County finished with three teams within the top 10 and seven in the top 15. Cooper Rider and Nolan Capps placed second overall with a five fish limit of 6.27 pounds and just one point shy of first place (299 points). Jon Luke Hall and Chase Taylor followed in third with a four finish limit of 6.01 pounds, while Weston and Ryland Galloway finished sixth with five fish at 5.40.
Baldwin County’s combined team points through two tournaments total 1,747, surpassing Mary G. Montgomery (1,744) for the Team of the Year lead. The competition will continue through the fall for the WSAT crown with the next competition being at Jordan Lake.
