Another week of the rankings for AHSAA prep boys' and girls' soccer coaches have been released, and the latest rankings feature eight Baldwin County programs as the Gulf Coast continues to showcase top talent on the pitch.
Here's a look at the local teams that landed in the latest polls, along with a few programs that narrowly missed the cut.
BOYS RANKINGS
On the boys side, the Foley Lions dropped one spot to No. 9 in Class 7A after a 1-1 week in area play. Foley fell 1-0 on the road to Spanish Fort before bouncing back with a win over Fairhope. The Lions will continue area competition this week with a matchup against Robertsdale on March 17.
Gulf Shores held steady at No. 8 in Class 6A following a 2-1 week. The Dolphins opened with an area victory over Baldwin County before hosting the 2026 Island Cup. Gulf Shores fell to Class 6A's No. 3-ranked Homewood but closed the tournament with a win over Moody. Playmaker Webb Ronan continues to produce for the Dolphins and remains among the nation's leaders in assists.
The St. Michael Cardinals entered the Class 5A rankings after winning nine of their last 10 matches. St. Michael secured key area victories over Elberta and B.C. Rain last week. Juniors Jake Lazzari and Raphael Duchesne continue to pace the offense with a combined 43 goals, with both ranking among the nation's top goal scorers while Lazzari also sits among the country's leaders in assists.
Orange Beach saw the largest drop among local teams after an 0-2 week. The Makos now sit at No. 7 in Class 4A after spending much of the season inside the top four.
One notable team missing from this week's rankings is Spanish Fort. The Toros have faced one of the toughest schedules in Alabama but continue to collect quality wins as area play begins. Spanish Fort has already defeated ranked opponents Foley and St. Michael, and the Toros have another test looming against ranked Gulf Shores.
GIRLS RANKINGS
On the girls side, Spanish Fort moved up one spot to No. 5 in Class 6A. The Lady Toros went 2-1 at the Island Cup, falling to Athens before rebounding with wins over St. John Paul II and Moody.
St. Michael slipped one spot to No. 7 in the Class 5A rankings despite a 2-0 week. The Lady Cardinals continue to build momentum with half of their remaining games coming in area play.
Orange Beach remains the top-ranked team in Class 4A and continued its unbeaten season. The Makos improved to 10-0 with two wins last week and a dominant 12-0 combined goal differential. Orange Beach is also ranked among the top 10 teams in Alabama and inside the national top 20 according to MaxPreps.
Bayshore Christian rounds out the county's ranked girls teams after jumping two spots to No. 7 in the Class 1A-3A rankings following a 2-0 week.
Another team drawing attention despite missing the rankings is Elberta. The Warriors improved to 12-0 with a pair of wins in the Island Cup but remain outside the Class 5A poll.
According to MaxPreps, Elberta is ranked among the top 25 teams in the state and among the top five in Class 5A. The Warriors have two matchups with area opponent St. Michael in the near future with undefeated Orange Beach to end the year as well.
