Elberta's varsity boys team will open the season on the road at St. Michael on Nov. 10.
ELBERTA BOYS
In his third season at the helm, head coach Jeff Robertson said Elberta’s system will depend on his players’ strengths. The Warriors finished 7-17 last season and placed third in Class 5A Area 1 as the only 5A team in Baldwin County.
“It varies from year-to-year,” Robertson said of his philosophy. “I really look at our personnel first, what kind of system that I want to play or put in. I like to play up tempo, both offensively and defensively. I think I have a really good group that is going to be able to do that.”
Elberta will rely on senior Sam Harrison, the team’s starting point guard and also the school’s starting quarterback. Alongside him is junior Drew Cole, a consistent shooter and returning starter. With five seniors overall and several returning contributors, the Warriors expect to compete more consistently against larger schools on their schedule.
