Seven Baldwin County baseball prospects will take part in the invitation-only Preseason All-State Showcase on Jan. 11, 2026, at the Orange Beach Sportsplex, an event featuring many of Alabama’s top underclassmen players.

Fairhope leads the local group with three selections. Danny Lumpkin (2028) and Ethan O’Meara (2027) will throw in 15-20 pitch bullpens and receive full mechanical reviews, including TrackMan velocity and movement data as well as other mechanical breakdowns. Bryon Martin (2026), a second baseman and Fairhope football star, is set for infield evaluations, arm-strength testing and work at the plate.

Coy Nance (2027) of Spanish Fort is another middle infielder that will take part in the event’s defensive range testing, positional analysis and offensive drills during live batting practice. Staying on the Eastern Shore, Daphne catcher Rylan Smith (2027) will be evaluated on receiving, blocking and pitch presentation while also taking part in offensive drills.

Gulf Shores will send two 2028 prospects: shortstop Matthew Sylkatis and right-handed pitcher Christian Roberts.

The showcase includes laser-timed running, live BP, defensive testing, and advanced technology such as TrackMan and Blast Motion. Prep Baseball Report calls the event one of the state’s key preseason scouting opportunities. The drills and tests listed above are just some of the things these athletes will be doing; for more information on the event visit prepbaseballreport.com/alabama.
