Pitching took center stage across both diamonds this past week in Baldwin County as another week full of tournaments is in the books.

As the season reaches its midpoint, attention now begins to shift toward area play, where postseason positioning will take priority. Let's take a look at some of the top teams and performances from last week as area play has already slowly begun.

TOP TEAMS

Baldwin County High School's softball team continued its strong turnaround, going 7-2 with a six-game winning streak before a narrow loss to Faith Academy. The Lady Tigers have now won 10 of their last 12 to improve to 13-7. On the baseball side, the Tigers climbed to the top of the county standings at 12-5 following a 3-0 week that included two shutout wins over Satsuma and Davidson.

Bayshore Christian baseball bounced back from a slow start to the season with three consecutive wins, defeating Davidson on the road before adding home victories over Elberta and St. Michael. Similarly, Bayside Academy responded to a rough stretch by winning three straight after dropping five of its previous six, showing growth against a challenging tournament schedule.

Daphne baseball continued its climb back to .500 with a 3-1 week, including a series win over Spanish Fort and an early victory over West Florida. And both Fairhope programs also found success, each picking up three wins. The Lady Pirates highlighted the week with a key 1-0 area win over Daphne.

Foley baseball rebounded from an early-week loss with wins over Decatur and T.R. Miller, while the Lady Lions secured victories over St. Paul's and Flomaton.

Gulf Shores remained productive while hosting the Gulf Coast Classic. The Dolphins' baseball team went 2-1 in tournament play before a run-rule win over Mortimer Jordan, while softball extended its winning streak to five games, capped by an 11-0 area victory over Baldwin County.

Robertsdale saw success on both sides as well, with softball putting together a five-game win streak and baseball closing the week with three consecutive victories.

Orange Beach softball continued its dominant season, improving to 16-0 with three run-rule wins over St. Michael, Spain Park and Ocean Springs by a combined 32-1 margin. The Makos' baseball team also found success, winning two early games in the Gulf Coast Classic by a combined score of 24-6 before finishing the week 2-1.

Spanish Fort softball became the first team in the county to reach 20 wins, opening the week a six-game win streak and extending that run to 10 games before splitting its final four contests. The Lady Toros' losses came by just a combined three runs.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES

Pitching set the tone for Baldwin County baseball with several dominant outings throughout the week. Tigers pitcher Roan Wallace struck out 14 in a complete-game win over Theodore, while Coen Lambeth matched that total in a shutout against Satsuma. Kris Denton and Jackson Lambert also combined for another shutout to close the week.

Offensively, Savannah Sharp led Baldwin County softball with a standout performance, going 15-for-24 with eight RBIs, including multiple extra-base hits.
